Psychologische Faktoren bei Personen mit körperlichen Beschwerden und Erkrankungen

Körperliche Beschwerden kommen in der Allgemeinbevölkerung und bei Patientinnen und Patienten in verschiedenen Behandlungssettings häufig vor.  Viele Beschwerden sind vorübergehend und belasten nur kurzzeitig. Halten körperliche Beschwerden aber länger an und lässt sich keine behandelbare Ursache finden, gehen sie oft mit einem starken Leidensdruck und einer hohen Beanspruchung des Gesundheitssystems einher.

In unserer Gruppe untersuchen wir, wie psychologische Faktoren die Chronifizierung körperlicher Beschwerden und Erkrankungen und die mit ihnen verbundene Beeinträchtigung beeinflussen. Dazu führen wir bevölkerungsbasierte  Quer- und Längsschnittstudien und Studien im Alltag von Betroffenen durch, auch unter Einbezug biologischer Parameter.
